What We Believe

The Holy Scriptures

We Believe that the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, constitute the Holy Scriptures. We believe that God is the Divine Author of the Scriptures, and is without error. The Scriptures alone constitute the only infallible quide for faith and life.

The Trinity

We believe there is one, true and living God. We believe that there is indivisible unity in the Godhead, yet existing in three separate Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe the Trinity is equal in every divine perfection, of the same essence, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of both creation and redemption.

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Second Person of the Holy Trinity. He possesses all the Divine attributes of God, and is coequal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. We believe that He was in the beginning with God, and He created all things and all things were created for Him. We believe that in the fullness of time, He was conceived of by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a perfect, pure, and sinless life. He suffered and died upon the Cross of Calvary, He was buried in a tomb, and on the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures.

Salvation

We believe that all men have inherited the sin nature of the first man, Adam. We believe that man is a sinner by choice. We believe that man is incapable of saving himself from his sin. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ took our sin upon Him, reconciling us to the Father, and giving us eternal life through faith. We believe that salvation is accomplished by grace through faith and not of works. We believe salvation is free to all who personally accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior.

The Local Church

The local church is the gathering place for believers to come together and corporately worship God, fellowship in the gospel and doctrine, observe the ordinances of Christ (baptism and communion), and pray together. Its scriptural offices are pastors and deacons. As an independent Baptist church we hold to the Baptist Distinctives of: Biblical Authority, the Autonomy of the Local Church, the Priesthood of the Believer, the Two Ordinances, Individual Soul Liberty, Saved and Baptized Church Membership, the Two Offices, and Separation.

The Return of Christ

We believe that the Return of the Lord Jesus Christ will take place in two separate distinct events. We believe the first aspect to the Lord's Return will be the "Rapture" of the church which can happen at any moment. The second aspect of the Lord's Return will be "The Second Coming of Christ." These two events will be separated by the seven year period called "The Tribulation." Following the Return of Christ, He will set up His "Millennial Kingdom."
